What was it like to see the prequel in theaters?

I was too young to see them when they came out, so I was just curious about what people were feeling when they saw them.When I saw the Force Awakens, for instance, everyone was obviously nostalgic, and did things like cheer when they saw the Millennium Falcon and Han Solo.Did people do stuff like that in the prequels?
