Should the Jedi have been more of a secret cult in the prequels?

Instead of being like a public police force that work directly with the Chancellor and the Republic would it be better if they were more mysterious and had a hidden secret temple on some far away planet instead of in the capital? I think it would've been better if the Jedi were secret peace keepers whose existence was thought to be only a myth by most other beings in the galaxy. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/3fyyBmF

The Bad Batch are going to be mercenaries/bounty hunters because of course they are but can you imagine if they got civilian jobs?

I think it'd be funny. Just have Hunter at the checkout at space-Walmart: "Do you want to join our rewards program?" Wrecker just moving crates all day. Echo'd be kinda interesting. What do you do with a half-man half-droid? He can access droid consoles but he doesn't have the same level of processing power that droids do. Tech might get a programming job?But of course they're going to be mercenaries because it's all they know, all they're good at. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/3i3euPc

Anyone else wish that Solo actually showed Han at the Imperial Academy?

Personally, I think it would've made the movie much better because it would've shown us (instead of merely telling) a more complete picture of his backstory, I saw the Star Trek movie last night (coincidentally, directed by JJ Abrams, who worked on the sequels), and the way it depicted Kirk as a Starfleet Cadet was pretty much exactly how I imagined Han as a Imperial Pilot, a frisky guy around the females and arrogant show off in the flight simulators, another reason why I see it as such a missed opportunity is because we also would've had a glimpse of how Han was like when he knew nothing about aviation, and how drastic it would've been compared to how we know him as the Millennium Falcons' Captain.I wonder if maybe, Lucasfilm might actually have scenes like this in their archives, because from what I've heard Solo underwent a massive overhaul at one point, plus there are so many scenes from the Originals and Prequels that have only came out recently (like Biggs revealing he's a Rebel and talking with Luke about the Empire's ongoing socialist transformation, Han kissing a girl that's obviously not Leia in Mos Eisley, Luke being bullied by Koo Stark's character and her friends after spotting a star destroyer in the sky, the weird alien with the long legs), and some not at all (according to Ian MacDiarmid, there is a scene of Anakin killing the younglings with up close violence, legend has it that some of that scene was used for the "I can't watch" moment where Obi Wan views the hologram). via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/3yQNUis

Darth Vader #11 comic has undone the entire Star Wars canon and I just learned about this.

So this is big. A word of warning, I am entering heavy spoiler territory and what may sound to some of you as deep fanfic.I would also like to preface that I understand the noble intention of tying the tragically disjointed episode IX into the canon but what the writer Greg Pak has achieved can in my opinion only be classified as "big, hot mess".Darth Vader #11, also called "Into the fire. Part 6: Exegol" takes place just after the events of Empire Strikes Back.(3 ABY, this information is key here)In previous issues, Vader, with the unwilling help of Ochi of Bestoon learned about the existence of Exegol and obtained a wayfinder on Mustafar (similar to the one Kylo Ren used)Vader landed on Exegol, beat a giant tentacle monster and used it to gain access to the sith sanctum seen in Episode IX.When inside, he sees what I can only assume is Luke Skywalker's severed hand that Palpatine has already been using to make force sensitive clones (first reminder, we are just after the events of ESB).He then proceeds to use the force to simultaneously murder at least 20 dark side cultists and this is where the "fun" begins.Vader and Ochi see with their own eyes a fleet of "hundreds of Star Destroyers" each already being equipped with "a cannon that can destroy a planet".Second reminder, we are only post Empire Strikes Back.Let's recap, shall we?3 years ABY, there is a fleet of hundreds of Star Destroyers, each equipped with a death star-like cannon. To make them in secret, so that the galaxy didn't know anything, and taking into account that the construction of Death Star 1 took 21 years (!) Palpatine must have started this project before the Death Star. The implication being that the entire work of Galen Erso and Orson Krennic was pointless and the battle of Yavin was a ruse.3 years ABY, Palpatine knew how to miniaturize the death star technology, and still went through with DS2.Vader was aware that Palpatine can make force-sensitive clones and not only made a meaningless sacrifice in Return of the Jedi, he also failed to let Luke know about any of the above. One could wonder if Vader actually turned to the light at the end.Starkiller base existence is completely invalidated.Final Order was being prepared at least 30 years before the rise of First Order.EDIT: In opposition to both Death Stars, this fleet could have been deployed sooner, even without the cannons. Why introduce it so soon if it will wait on Exegol for 30 years??You can all probably see the consequences of this single comic issue shatter the already fragile continuity of Star Wars canon. And let me repeat, I appreciate the efforts of the writing team, but if this is the solution, and I don't say this lightly, I'd prefer the sequels were decanonized. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/3wOkShD
