The Force Awakens was great but, with the exception of Jakku, there was little worldbuilding. I cannot tell from the film anything about any of the other planets. The Empire Strikes Back had great worldbuilding with Bespin and how Lando was the administrator of Cloud City and was in a mining industry and you could see the people of Bespin going about their day and Ugnaughts and everything else. Episodes 1 - 3 had a lot of worldbuilding. Rogue One was basically all worldbuilding. Episodes 4 - 6 had great worldbuilding given their context. Episode 7 had good worldbuilding. Episode 8 needs great worldbuilding.I understand that The Last Jedi cannot have worldbuilding for the sake of worldbuilding; that the worldbuilding in The Last Jedi must be in service to the story. Luke taking Rey to Geonosis because that's where the Clone Wars began would be pointless; however, Luke taking Rey to Tatooine would be significant. So I wonder whether Luke takes Rey, and by extension the story, to Tatooine, Naboo, and Coruscant, and where else the story will go in The Last Jedi. via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2o99I7Z
