“There’s nothing in that tree which the girl Rey does not already possess”

I didn’t catch the double meaning of this quote until my second or third viewing, but now I think it’s really clever. Luke goes to burn the force tree, and Yoda’s force ghost shows up to have a really touching exchange with his former student. Initially I looked at this quote as Yoda saying that Rey has a pure spirit and has all the makings of a great Jedi, but then at the end of the film we see that Rey literally has all of the sacred texts with her on the falcon. It’s as if Yoda is reassuring Luke and helping him to remember who he is, but he’s also making sure Luke doesn’t realize that Rey had already taken the texts by this point.
