So I’ve noticed quite a few people boycotting Solo because they are unhappy with the current direction of the franchise and The Last Jedi. I’m gonna be honest. I was very disappointed with The Last Jedi. It did a lot of things I wasn’t happy with but after the massive divide that was created in the fan base, I decided to take a step back from the Star Wars community for a few months. I was thinking of skipping Solo but decided to give it a shot all the same.I was blown away. The film reminded me of all the reasons I love Star Wars and I was sat with a massive grin throughout. It’s a love letter to the original trilogy and slots in perfectly with that world. It’s more like Rogue One than the sequels but the characters have a lot more going on and by avoiding the usual Rebels vs Empire story that the last 3 films had, it felt like it was genuinely taking risks and changing things like The Last Jedi claimed to do.If you’re thinking of skipping Solo, I encourage you to give it a shot. It’s a fun, exhilarating ride just like something out of the original trilogy and reignited the love I have for Star Wars that I’d been without for the last few months. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2xcHCho
