You know most of us grew up assuming from what we read that Chewbacca was bonded to Han because of a life debt and his Wookie code. But this movie certainly gives Chewbacca more agency in his decision making. The movie very much presents them more like equal partners. This also makes things fit someone more tidy with him partnering up with Rey because you could always have assumed that with no more Life Debt he would go back to Kashykk. Well no life debt, no problem, Chew can do what he wants.Anyway have not seen that discussed but after I slept on the movie this kind of hit me that it really does give Chew more agency than he had before. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2IRAvw3
