After finding an unrelated question about Jedha in a Star Wars subreddit, I started wondering exactly how far away Saw's compound was from Jedha City, because it took several minutes for the blast wave from the Death Star's superlaser impact to reach the compound.This video (https://youtu.be/-PACPZpt52o) is the most complete clip of the film I could find, although it cuts about 28 seconds from the actual impact of the beam. Assuming the destruction takes place in real-time, and using Saw's death as a measurement, the blast wave takes 3 minutes and 27 seconds to reach him. The planet has a canon diameter of 11,263 kilometers.I'm hoping that something in the video is able to indicate the speed that the wave is travelling.
