In the newest episode of Resistance, we were show a star system with no star and planets in various states of destruction. One had it core drilled out, another had a hole in it familiar to the shape of Starkiller's projector. I think the FO built all the parts for Starkiller base at the same time, the removed them from the planets they were built on to install them on the base proper. It'd be similar to the construction of the DS II with parts being separately built and then assembled in a single location and it'd explain why the construction of the weapon took only 30 years. via /r/StarWars http://bit.ly/2Gwoz5c
