Lightsaber Colours

First of all, I know this is a thoroughly discussed topic and mostly theoretical, but here's my two cents anyway. So in current canon, the colour of a Jedi's lightsaber crystal is determined by its wielder's "spiritual alignment", i.e. its colourless until chosen by/choosing a Jedi.Meaning its likely that the majority of lightsabers were blue or green because those colours most closely aligned with the popular spiritual values of the Jedi order. So, with that being said, I think the meaning of the lightsaber colours are...BLUE: The most common lightsaber colour, usually displayed by the most knight-like members of the Order. Their values are centred around bravery, determination and honour.GREEN: The runner-up for most common colour, seems to be wielded by scholars and those who value wisdom, cleverness, and being open to the Force above all else.RED: In canon, caused by a dark-side user directing their raw, negative emotions into a (previously attuned?) crystal to corrupt or "bleed" it, causing it to turn red regardless of its original colour.YELLOW: Fairly rare, only present in canon in the hands of the Jedi temple guards, and later, Rey. My guess is that this colour is aligned with those who value vigilance and the proactive protection of others, possibly specifically of the Order itself. This is shown with Rey, who at the time of Rise of Skywalker, is essentially protecting the entire future of the Jedi Order single-handedly.PURPLE: Mace Windu is the only canon wielder of a purple lightsaber. So based off his traits, it seems that purple attunes to those who value the use of aggressive, even darker tactics in service of the greater good. Possibly related to purple being a combination of blue and red.WHITE: In canon, results only from the purification of a previously "bled" (red) crystal. Possibly represents a neutral alignment with the force.LIME GREEN/YELLOW-GREEN: Ahsoka Tano's original off-hand shoto lightsaber was this colour, likely a combination of green and yellow values. Maybe something entirely different.BLUE-WHITE: Tera Sinube's lightsaber-cane was this colour. No idea what it means. Could maybe represent greater independence from the Jedi.So that's it (I think). What are your thoughts on the meaning of the colours, or do you prefer if the colours are completely random? via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/39tHGqN
