Was rewatching The Phantom Menace the other day and this quote got me thinking. How much did this advice impact Anakin as a Jedi? This is the very first advice Anakin receives from Qui-Gon Jinn on how to use the Force before the pod race.Anakin must have really taken that to heart because what does he do throughout the rest of the prequels? Choose to follow his feelings rather than adhere to Jedi instruction regarding love and attachment. There was a whole list of reason why Anakin turned to the dark side (mother’s death, the council’s distrust towards him, Ahsoka’s betrayal, etc.) but Qui Gon’s advice effectively set the tone for Anakin’s path as a Jedi.Not sure if I should believe George Lucas intended this or if I’m looking too deep into this.
