So I was reading the TROS Visual Dictionary and noticed in the section on the Jedi texts that some of the writing was...well, familiar. There was very clearly what looked like Arabic script in some of the writing. I show this to my cousin and she immediately identified it as al-Biruni's Persian writings on the phases of the moon. Take a look for yourself..."Jedi texts" from TROS Visual Dictionary describing the "Phases of Mortis"Page from Al-Biruni's Kitab al-Tafhim describing the phases of the moonThe page was clearly copy pasted into the visual dictionary without much alteration. The text is 100% the same. So I guess we can now say the ancient Jedi spoke medieval Persian.Fun fact: the word on the right is "aftab" which is the Persian word for sunlight. Aftab is also the name of Ackbar's son in TROS. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2NIlKjL
