Hey R/Starwars, I am a fan of the prequels and I am a fan of the sequels. I am here to say that it is okay to be disappointed by the Sequel Trilogy, It’s okay to wish George had stayed. It’s okay to feel how you feel but please don’t make me or my friends feel bad for liking them. I know there are many wonderful people here but there are just as many horrible people. I am speaking to those horrible people specifically. I love the Sequels, they are my second favourite part of all Star Wars, right behind TCW and ROTS. I grew up watching Rey discover her place in the universe and it has meant just as much as me as the OT did for many of you. I find Rey and Bens romance beautiful and Poe dameron learning to be a leader taught me a lot about the cost of war.I understand that many of you feel like they pale in comparison to the Originals or even the Prequels but as someone who was introduced mostly by the ST I think they are great and are on the same level as phase 2 of the MCU.I made this post in hopes that we can begin to heal our wounds and reunite the Star Wars fandom. We don’t have to agree on everything, in fact it makes things fun but we need civility back. It was wrong for people to call your side all racist or sexist. You are people and so are we and we all need to remember that.Even if you feel like Disney botched the Trilogy please remember that they also made the Mandalorian and the best Director from the Mandalorian is basically making a Kenobi trilogy as far as runtime is concerned.Star Wars is not dead, It has just become more powerful then you can possibly imagine.Peace and LoveP.S, I am an aspiring director and am about to go to Film School so any advice for that would be welcome. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2RwWfTF
