Rewatched TFA today and I think the titles for episodes 8-9 are actually explained by Snoke

I know the leading theory right now states that "The Rise of Skywalker" probably means the formation of a new order, replacing the Jedi. In my rewatch of TFA I think I found confirmation of this, along with the title for episode 8:The droid will soon be delivered to the Resistance... leading them to the last Jedi. If Skywalker returns... the new Jedi will rise.Just found that super interesting. This is my first post here so if this has been mentioned before I apologize. via /r/StarWars http://bit.ly/2KUTsDH
