The New Republic wasn't taking the First Order seriously enough for the liking of some people so those people broke off to form the Resistance but what are they resisting?To the majority of the galaxy the First Order would have been what? A terrorist group? A fringe nation? An out of touch group trying to recreate the past?The First Order might have been a danger to those on the outer rim but to most I doubt they were anything. A group barely worth mentioning on a news broadcast. So why would anyone resist them?Based on the seeming power of the New Republic and the seeming lack of power of the First Order the Resistance sounds more like they're resisting the New Republic which is the current regime.The Resistance should have chosen a name which illustrated their opposition of the First Order or their lack of conflict with the New Republic or something that couldn't be associated with either group.Also the Resistance needed more distinct heraldry and symbols but that's just mostly because movies are a visual medium and I bet most of the audience didn't know to distinguish between the New Repuplic and the Resistance. via /r/StarWars http://bit.ly/2IVWW68
