Do you think the spin off movies should have been further away from the episodes?

Don't get me wrong, I liked rogue one in a gritty sort of way, but I was hoping for a story less connected to any of the existing movies. I am not sure how to feel about the new Han solo movie either. I wish they would make stories that are a lot more loosely connected to the movies. I would very much like a movie that is more republic commando squad based or something like that. Does anyone else feel the same way? via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2uOw9zh
