[SPOILERS] The one scene in Rogue One that felt out of place...

The scene where Saw interrogates Bodhi with the mind reading creature. It was a cool alien, and it made me speculate that maybe the substance in the syringe of the Imperial interrogation bots might be derived from this creature. Yet, outside of some cool EU implications, this scene felt like it should have been cut, or maybe was supposed to lead into a scene that was. When we next see Bodhi, he's clearly suffering the side effects of the mind reading, but it doesn't affect anything. He suffers no long term effects, and his temporary insanity doesn't even cause a momentary conflict for the plot. It didn't even change Bodhi's situation with Saw. Before the scene, he'd have been locked up. After (probably) determining that Bodhi was telling the truth about defecting and his relationship with Galen, Saw still just throws him right back in the cell.So other than to further establish that Saw is much more extreme that the rest of the Rebellion, or making Bodhi's situation more dire, what purpose do you think this scene served? via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2ich982
