I CAN'T BELIEVE I never noticed this connection between Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith

I'm sure many realized this already, but during my most recent rewatch of Empire Strikes back I noticed a pretty well executed parallel between ESB and RotS.Luke has the force vision of his friends in pain at Cloud City and decides to rush and help them, despite Yoda's assertion that he should be patient and complete his training. "If you end your training now, if you choose the quick and easy path, as Vader did, you will become an agent of evil."In Revenge of the Sith this is EXACTLY what leads Anakin down his path to the dark side. His visions of Padme in pain convince him that she will die, even though he doesn't know that she'll die. He chooses the quick and easy path that Palpatine offers him, thereby becoming Darth Vader.Ironically, this was always an aspect of Revenge of the Sith that I didn't like that much. Maybe it was the execution, but after realizing this parallel to ESB and clear thread of continuity, I'm pretty impressed. There's plenty about the prequel trilogy that I truly dislike, but there are also aspects that Lucas grasped pretty damn well. Kudos for that one. via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2h3tARA
