So I finished Season 5 of TCW last night...

In case there's any question, SPOILERS:Let me preface this by saying that I'm sure this has been touched on by plenty of people in this sub and r/theclonewars before, but the last arc moved me so much (and so unexpectedly, considering I knew that Ahsoka was going to leave) that I feel like I need to talk it out with someone. It's honestly incredible that what is essentially a kids' show, especially for the first 2.5 seasons, is able to elicit that kind of emotional response. The only one I can think of that had a similar effect for me was the OG Avatar series, and I never really had that same connection to that franchise that I do to Star Wars. Anyways, to go from all of the action of The Lawless and the final Mandalore arc, to the emotional heft of every single Anakin/Ahsoka interaction was a lot to deal with. The way the animation has developed on this show to be able to not only better handle kinetic action but facial expressions and unsaid feeling is incredible.I actually generally liked Ahsoka from the beginning (I know that isn't necessarily a popular opinion), and it sucks that she won't be around for the last 13 episodes. But I also really enjoyed how her leaving is clearly reflected on Anakin, and how much this is affecting him. Man, it was just a really awesome arc and I've been pleasantly surprised with where this show has gone. I know this kind of just turned into a TCW appreciation post, but I'm really just impressed (and still a lot bummed out), and felt like I needed to get all this off my chest.Wow, what a show. via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2gGgHlw
