How did Palpatine beat 3 of the 4 Jedi in his office so easily?

He was alone, against four Jedi Masters. They're the elite among the Jedi. Sure, he's powerful, but I doubt that he could realistically fight 4 People, who have spent decades studying the force, and training with lightsabers.
