I feel like Rogue One and the Mandalorian finale did what the Last Jedi couldn't...

...It actually feels like Star Wars. It "subverted your expectations" of a star wars at times, but in an actual way that brought an emotional effect on the audience and characters, not just for the sake of subversion. For example, in Rogue One, the main cast gets all killed off in a series of tragic deaths, right when you think they'd win with this "small rebellion vs a grand empire" type story, where in most cases, the tiny rebellion wins.In Mando S2 finale, Luke comes to the rescue in what was an amazing comeback that made fans around the world cry tears of joy.Where was any of this when Luke died in TLJ? It felt as if RJ really forced it to be a pacifist death, resulting in him just.... yeah.... dying. No epic scene, no jaw dropping moments, no action, no cool visuals, just.... dying. And mostly, it had a director(s) that actually cared about Star Wars and truly gave the fans what they wanted. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/3GTSFuI
