How do you feel about the upcoming "High Republic" stories coming out? How do you feel about the new canon universe as a whole, especially the books in the new canon?

Just hoping to get a peek into what the fans think of all the changes made recently and if you think in the end it was a good call. With the recent reveal of several new main characters of the High Republic period being released, I wanted to know everyone's opinion on the potential they think this period will have taking place about 200 years before TPM as well as your opinions on the characters in general.Personally they all seem a bit too similar and currently don't seem to have many flaws that could serve as challenges to overcome later. The biggest flaws we see are doubt in their ability or impulsiveness which, while usable, aren't particularly major flaws in my eyes. That's not to say problems won't arise when things actually come out, I just don't want a bunch of Gary Stu/Mary Sue characters running around making for boring stories and boring characters. I'm really excited to see this period overall though, the old republic has always been a very interesting time for just about everybody. As far as the canon as a whole, do you all think throwing all the EU out the window was the right call? Do you think the new canon books are heading in a good direction and doing things right? Some argue that Legends was too expansive and only so much of it neatly fit together, that there was simply too much material and it would overwhelm new readers, making it hard to choose a starting place. The argument is that the new canon has much less material (as of now anyway) and things seem to tie in together nicely as well as there being several great starting places depending on what you enjoy most about Star Wars. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/3dWo0zk
