Say what you want about the Prequels (I for one think they are good, but misunderstood), their DVD releases had excellent and plentiful bonus features. Each one had multiple documentaries charting the making of the film, featurettes exploring multiple aspects the production, web documentaries that chronicle life on the set behind the scenes, and many completed deleted scenes (for Episode I, George Lucas actually got a crew together to re-shoot the deleted scenes to make them available for the DVD).The feature-length documentary The Beginning: The Making of Episode I on the Phantom Menace DVD is still one of the best behind-the-scenes documentaries I've ever seen. Within a Minute is also a great feature-length documentary on the Revenge of the Sith DVD that shows how the climactic lightsaber duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan was planned, choreographed, and filmed. For someone like me with a vested interest in filmmaking and production, the bonus features on the Prequel DVDs offer an unmatched glimpse into the making of a major blockbuster franchise film that is as entertaining as the films themselves. via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2ogbYdW
