The longer Ezra and Kanan persist, with that level of power, the more they undermine Luke

I had no problem with the idea of a modestly powerful Force-user boy, and a former Padawan who never completed his training, roaming the galaxy in the years before A New Hope. But in the last two seasons, Ezra and Kanan have effectively become superheroes equal in power to the Jedi of the Clone Wars. It's gotten to the point where stormtroopers and droids are no threat to them.Even larger Imperial assets, such as walkers, which give the likes of Zeb and Rex trouble, are easily dispatched by Kanan. Not only have these two removed all sense of peril in Rebels' action scenes, but they are beginning to threaten the mythical significance of Luke.Even after destroying the Death Star, Luke does not offer nearly the utility to the Rebellion that Kanan and Ezra have. And at this point, all of the Rebel leaders (including Leia) have interacted with Ezra and Kanan and witnessed their power. It becomes more and more difficult to believe that these superhero Jedi aren't even mentioned by anyone.I really enjoyed Rebels when it started. And I still do enjoy it, when it focuses on the non-Force-centric struggle between the Rebellion and the Empire (with a splash of Mandalorian intrigue). Episodes focused on Hera, Zeb, Sabine, and even Chopper are really great, with real drama. But it seems almost every episode--especially the big "event" episodes like Twin Suns and Zero Hour--focus on Ezra.I had high hopes that Ezra or Kanan would get a moment of heroic sacrifice in Zero Hour, giving their lives to allow the fledgling Rebellion to escape Thrawn's net. But even Bendu didn't die. Instead we get Kanan casually bringing down walkers, and Ezra continuing his sudden emergence as an ace pilot who overshadows Hera (regardless of what ship he's flying). And it seems like each season just ups the ante. I'm very concerned that by the end of Rebels, it's going to be very hard to reconcile it with the original films, or even Rogue One.Is anyone else feeling this way? via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2nBy721
