[Appreciation] Disney+ ensured that the Closed Caption for Empire Strikes Back doesn't reveal the twist before the audio, thus maintaining the surprise for both audiences correctly.
Often a lot of closed caption runs a little ahead of the audio track so it stays synced to the movie - this can lead to ruining the scenes for the people in the room who don't need the CC themselves. It seems like a little thing, but I appreciate a good deal that Disney+ (more specifically, whoever coded the CC) synced that scene to not give it away before it is said aloud in ESB. The stormtrooper banter at the beginning of episode 8 is one of the best things about this show. It's just so funny and kinda humanizing for the stormtroopers.

[spoilers for RoS and Mandalorian] I really appreciate how Star Wars incorporates elements from the animated TV shows & doesn’t ignore them
Since the Clone Wars and Rebels are a bit more kid-oriented and animated, it would be easy for the filmmakers to simply ignore them. But just off the top of my head, the stuff included from the Clone Wars and Rebels in love action media include:Maul in SoloThe Ghost in Rogue One/RoSAshoka/Kanan’s voices speaking to ReyThe Darksaber in The Mandalorian (not to mention the general lore/continuity of Mandos between CW, Rebels, and Mandalorian)The design of Kessel in Solo being consistent with that of RebelsEDIT: Saw Gerrara from the Clone Wars playing a major role in R1Now, a lot of this isn’t particularly significant on its own, but the fact that the creative teams acknowledge the existence of the animated shows, take care not to contradict them, and even build on their stories (in the case of Maul and the Darksaber) is just awesome, and is a big part of what makes Star Wars so special to me. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2SCPtOq
I felt like I was seven-years-old again last night: I loved The Rise of Skywalker!
I was seven when Star Wars was released, and still remember how amazing it all felt: the visual effects, the creatures, the story, the humor, the big-ness of everything.We went to see ROS last night. I hadn’t done any reading about it, hadn’t paid attention to reviews, and took my seat with no axe to grind or critical eye. I did have popcorn.I thought it was fantastic. I’m not going to defend myself to anyone, and I don’t want deep discussions about why anything in the script, acting, story arc, special effects, or marketing ruined it.
