The Jedi wanted him because the prophecy made him out to be their weapon against the Sith. The Sith wanted him for her power.The only two people who wanted nothing but the best for Anakin was his Mom and Padmé and they were the people the Jedi told Anakin he shouldn’t love.Even Obi-Wan tells him that he has to make the right choice for the Order not the right choice for himself in TCW.
