Fans under 30 may never understand how important and cathartic it was for us who grew up on the OT to see Luke return in Mandalorian S2 finale.

Some of us OT OGs have been waiting nearly 30 years to see Luke kick ass as a fully fledged Jedi Knight. That's nearly half a lifetime devoted to some dumb fantasy movies about space wizards. I know we're all part of the same SW family, but for some of us, it's far more than just a movie. Imagine how incredibly disappointing it was for us to finally see Luke in Ep.8 portrayed a dissolutioned shell of his former self. That's why his return in Mando was so impressive and important. I remember watching it at midnight the morning of the Friday it came out. As soon as Cara Dune said "one xwing? great, we're saved" i started to weep, because I knew in that moment what was coming. Next, bo katan says "a jedi"? Then you see a green lightsaber, and finally, a naked left hand and a gloved right hand. I remember being unable to speak in those moments because I was crying tears of joy. I had to wipe my tears on a pillow so my wife wouldn't notice, lol. It was so beautiful.Anyway, just wanted to share some perspective and context for when people talk shit about those of us who are hung up on the OT and having difficulty appreciating the ST. We're not assholes, we've just been waiting a long long time to see our friends again, and we're disappointed to see them treated the way they were.Edit: for those OT fans who are saying I don't speak for them, thats fine, I don't intend to. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/3o0v7OO
