After listening to an interview of Dave Filoni’s beautiful understanding of the prequel trilogy, I’m convinced of how this story will play out in the end.One thing he kept hammering in the interview was how the demise of Anakin Skywalker can be rooted in the death of Qui-Gon and losing the father figure he needed in his life. He states that Qui-Gon and Maul’s battle is a pivotal moment where the outcome would determine Anakin’s fate, because either Qui-Gon would die and Skywalker would be left without the ‘father’ to mentor him and his fall would continue from there, or Qui-Gon would live, and be the Master Anakin needed to prevent him from turning to the dark side. Now, in The Mandalorian, one of the major themes is fatherhood, just like in overall story of Star Wars as Filoni understood. The armorer telling Mando he’s the child’s father until returned to the Jedi, Ahsoka telling Mando that Grogu sees him as his father. There’s a similar thread being woven in Grogu as Filoni explained it in regards to Anakin, but flipped on its head...I’m convinced there is no outcome where Mando and Grogu end up leaving eachother. This is why I think Filoni intends to use Grogu as the success story that would’ve been Anakin, and why I also don’t think Mando will end up dying in this series. If he did, Grogu would be put in the same position that Anakin was in, and I think Filoni wants to show the opposite — one of hope instead of tragedy. What should have been.I highly recommend listening to Dave Filoni explain George Lucas’s Star Wars if you haven’t already, and let me know if see the threads of The Mandalorian story through Dave’s explanation of the prequel and original trilogy. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/ePDiQ1uTrWI via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/3mGUz8q
