Sorry my thoughts are all over the placeAfter finishing Clone Wars a week or two ago I begrudgingly started Rebels out of boredom today. Clone Wars fucked me up in a way I hadn't been since I first watched The Wire or Avatar: TLA so I didnt have high hopes going into Rebels but to my surprise I'm loving it. I thought I remember reading everyone saying it has a terrible beginning but to stick with it since it gets much better around seasons 2 or 3. But wow, just binged the first 5 episodes and I really feel like this show is on the same playing field as Clone Wars. Sure these first five episodes aren't as good as Clone Wars best of the best arcs but IMO I found it just as enjoyable as TCW great arcs like Undercover Obi or the Mortis arc.I dont mind the tone either so far like I thought I would for a "kids" show. It's lighter than TCW but so was the OT compared to the PT. The jokes also land much better compared to some of the ones in TCW. Also other than occasionally in TCW they were mostly killing droids and other non sentient things while in Rebels stormtroopers are actual people so I understand the decision to lighten the series up. This show just really feels like it has love put into it, unlike some other Star Wars media that's came out recently. Also I'm really into the crew? Love the Kyle Katarn stand-in with a twi'lek love interest, punk Mandalorian, Steven fucking Blum???, and of course Star Wars Aladdin. Also this inquisitor guy is pretty cool, right? I really wasnt expecting another dark force user to show up.Tldr; Thanks for reading my thoughts, this show is much better than I expected/heard and cant wait to get to the really good stuff. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2Uk4c0E
