A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a bouncing baby boy was born in Brooklyn, New York to Sheila and Jerry . Mitchell “Mitch” was full of spunk and happiness, so much so, that his parents tried for perfection twice, and soon came the Leia to his Luke, Mitch’s favorite (and only) sister, Ellen . Mitchell spent his childhood adopting abandoned cats, riding the elevator up and down in his New York City home, and terrorizing his younger sister. If you see Ellen, ask her why she refuses to wear stockings to this day.As Mitchell aged, he showed an interest in a number of fields and fandoms including, history, agriculture, Star Trek, and Star Wars. Naturally, Mitch went on to work in accounting, as all young Jewish padawans do. He wielded interest tables just as Skywalker defended the galaxy with his lightsaber. Mitch brought balance to the books with his brilliant use of the force and an accounting degree from The University of Buffalo. Soon he became known as “Star Destroyer”, for his brutal takedown of balance outages and reconciliations. In a move to solidify a Jedi power-base and establish a Force empire, Mitchell married the beautiful and brilliant Sarah. The young couple did their part to grow the Rebel Alliance, and his daughter Alexis was born, followed a little later by her sister Lauren. Mitch reveled in his new role as a father. He doted on his young troops and taught them the way of the nerds. Their childhood was spent chasing after ill-mannered Ewok poodles, exploring galaxies near and far through the pages of their favorite books, and lighting up the stage with their father’s well-honed theatrical spirit.Mitch “Star Destroyer” will be remembered for his childlike enthusiasm and passion for the democratic party. He attempted (and failed) to hold public office a number of times, but was not deterred in his effort to better his community through participation in the political process. Late in life he developed a love of online shopping and QVC. Nary a day went by where he couldn’t be found ordering a package to be delivered in less than 12 parsecs.Mitch may not have lived a long life, but he lived one of great meaning. He was a beloved husband, son, father, uncle, friend and galactic fighter. He will be greatly missed. To all the friends and family with the patience to read this obituary to the last line, we ask that as you travel among the stars you carry a little piece of Mitch with you.“Remember…the Force will be with you, always.” – Obi Wan Kenobi via /r/StarWars http://bit.ly/2AykZmJ
