As I'm reading Thrawn, I now realize that Tarkin was just as much of a boogeyman as Vader was

I mean Tarkin(and Peter Cushing) was one of my favorite characters prior to this book, I love his brutal efficiency and intelligence.But even in his own book, Tarkin never had the presence that he has in Thrawn. People are terrified of his very name and it reminded me of the presence that Vader has. He has the respect and fear of all of his peers and has almost absolute political and military power. It's honestly a shame he was killed off in the Death Star, he would have been an amazing recurring villain in the OT. via /r/StarWars http://bit.ly/2FknbS7
