So the wait for TLJ is absolutely killing me. I have a list of like fifty questions I want answered about the plot and characters (Who are the Knights of Freaking Ren? Why did Lor San-Tekka have the map to the Jedi Temple?), but I am most obsessed with the mystery of Snoke and Kylo Ren. I strongly believe Kylo Ren is NOT entirely "evil", and he's certainly not a Sith. The fact that they hint about this throughout the movie tells me that it's something important. What I want to discuss with you guys is a correlation between Snoke and Luke, specifically the goals they appear to have at this time while we can only speculate based on the movies, books, comics, and the TLJ trailer. So we know from TFA and Bloodlines that Snoke selected Kylo Ren from a young age to be his next apprentice, of which he had "several" prior to Kylo. He selected him because he is the grandson of Anakin Skywalker and the nephew of Luke Skywalker, thus being a very strong mix of Dark and Light sides of the force. Why does the Supreme Leader, who we all must assume is a bad guy associated with the Dark Side, want an apprentice who is "balanced"? I believe Snoke is VERY old, and comes from the very early days of Jedi and Sith. I think he knows something, and I think Luke has discovered what Snoke knows. Now on to Luke. We know Luke has been searching for the first Jedi Temple. We do not know why for absolute sure, but we know it was as a result of Kylo Ren destroying the Jedi academy Luke had started and killing the other students. Luke goes searching for knowledge, or artifacts, related to the Jedi. And WHAT HE FINDS THERE CHANGES HIS OUTLOOK ON THE JEDI ENTIRELY, if we are to take his quote from the trailer at face value, "It is time for the Jedi to end". I think Luke found some important knowledge, knowledge that Snoke already has.In TFA, Snoke doesn't seem to care about finding Luke nearly as much as Kylo. Snoke seems bent on the Resistance NEVER finding Luke or what he went to find, as opposed to Kylo who seems bent on finding Luke himself (for reasons I'd love to discuss, but I'm trying to stay focused). I think Snoke is aware of the first Jedi Temple and the knowledge stored there, however he might not think Luke could have ever found it, or be able to bring what he found back to the Resistance if he (Snoke) crushes the Resistance swiftly, or simply destroys the map and their chances of ever finding what he knows. So in conclusion, I think Snoke knows some prophecy or destiny tied to the Force and it's users. I think he knows that in the end, neither the Sith nor the Jedi will prevail, but someone in the middle. Clearly he seeks a balanced apprentice, this much we know. Perhaps this could simply be an experiment on his part, to have a strong apprentice with powers of both Jedi and Sith, without having the drawbacks of the Dark Side powers (selfishness and all that) or the Jedi (denying one's desires, refusing attachments). I think, though, it has to do with something much much bigger, something perhaps written on those books that we see Luke touching in the trailer. The Journal of the Whills maybe? We know there's some "Weird" stuff in this movie. If you've read any information at all about TLJ, you would have heard that it's "different" and "weird" and whatnot. I think this is why. It's a huge left turn away from the traditional Light vs Dark, Good vs Bad.TL:DR- I think Snoke knows that the fate of the galaxy will fall into the hands of a Force-Neutral being. That's why he chose Kylo, a balance of Dark and Light. I think Luke has discovered this knowledge and is training Rey to be neither Jedi nor Sith, which we can assume to be true based on "It's time for the Jedi to end" quote. And for the record, I could be WAY OFF on all of this, and look like a total idiot. But guys, I am so freaking excited for this movie.. I'm dying to know where this plot goes, how Rey and Kylo's journeys unfold, what Luke found there and what he does going forward.. Oh MAN I can't wait.Edit- Tell me this doesn't support my case.
