I noticed after five viewings, that the sound effects stood out among any movies. It brought weights to Rogue One.The Death Star is above Jedha. Director Krennic wants to demonstrate the weapon. The Death Star commander turns on the screen to display Jedha's surface and the targeting computer. The sound was loud thumps. It was as if the Death Star is the guillotine, ready to drop its blade over Jedha's head. The U wing and Imperial cargo shuttle's interior. You can hear the subtle sound of engines at work inside the vehicles. The sound complimented the visual aesthetic of the planetary surfaces of Jedha and Scarif. If you traveled on a plane before, you would really feel like you were inside the ship with the characters, you would feel like it does takes a while to head to the surface.General Merrick ( Xwing pilot in blue suit) perished in the battle of Scarif when he was shot down and crashed into the surface. The impact was big, it was loud The sound of the impact felt it has really happened in a not too far distance. The sound f/x didn't sound obnoxiously fake like in most action packed movies. No, this explosion felt and sounded real. It made me felt tragic for the pilot as well as the dire situation the rebels are putting themselves into. The Hammerhead cruiser slams into the disabled Star Destroyer, pushing it into adjacent Star Destroyer. Metal against metal. I not only see the impact, but I also felt it through the sound. I was also holding for dear life, bracing for impact as the hammerhead headed for the destroyer. Then it happened, the destroyer slammed into the other destroyer. Metal creeks, twists in all directions. Heavy, hollowed metals ripping apart. These massive imperial vessels is falling apart. Two titans has crashed into each others and you can hear just how massively heavy they are.The best one of all. The whole Darth Vader slaughter scene. From the moment you hear Vader's boots thumping on the floor to the deadly mechanical breathing in a silence, dark room. He ignites his lightsaber, but this saber has the sound of death instead of the sound of a noble weapon. The situation for the rebel was urgent and you could hear the urgency in their voices when they screamed to get the door open, to "TAAAAAAAAAKE IIIIIT!". Vader uses the force to slam one of the soldiers into the ceiling above him. It was a horrible sound, by horrible, I mean it in a good way. The mass of the body slammed so hard into the ceiling that you hear this loud thump. Vader is not to be reckoned with, he is truly strong with the force. You just know by not only looking at Vader's capability, but you can hear it too. What do you think? Did you also notice sound effects I mentioned above? Did it stand out for you as well? What thoughts would you like to share? via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2lN1M72
