Sorry if this has been discussed recently, but it's been on my mind since seeing the film last week.As soon as the credits rolled, a good friend of mine turned to us and said, "That was the first time I've ever found Vader truly terrifying."It's been ringing in my head all week. Cause he is absolutely right. Vader has always been a dark presence, but it's always been toned down cause the previous films have always been geared more towards kids and families. But Rogue One...it's a war movie. A gritty, non happy ending (but silver lining) war movie. Sacrifice for the cause and all that. And that last few minutes, where he turns on the lightsaber and fucking WRECKS SHOP in all those fantastically sweet and epic ways-I truly felt for those soldiers. That had to be horrible to face as their end, justifiable or not.The movie is great, but they really did an awesome job rounding out Vader as truly scary and a fucking force to be reckoned with. Not just some dude in a suit. He IS a Dark Lord of the Sith. There is a reason why people are afraid of even hearing his name.It was beautifully done, in my humble opinion. Happy Life Day everyone. via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2hzkwFf
