What age do I start trying to get my boy into Star Wars and where do I start?

So he’s 16 months old. We’ve watched some young Jedi adventures and he loves it. However I feel it’s way too young to try any real Star Wars like the films or tv. My friend said him actually pushing his kids to like it and made them watch it to the point how they’re grown up they don’t like it at all.
