TLDR: Used to think Star Wars was lame, watched them now it’s my favorite franchise.Forgive me, I know stuff like this is probably posted a lot but I really wanna share my feelings on these movies. Before watching Star Wars I had the idea that they were outdated and thought it was pretty lame from stuff I saw so I never really gave it a fair shot. My friends who are my age (17) are huge Star Wars fans and would always talk about it and said I should watch them so I decided I would not really expecting too much. But let me say right off the bat that the old trilogy is genuinely the best 3 movie run I’ve ever seen. I watched them with my mom, she likes a new hope but I like return of the Jedi (Darth Vader is my favorite character seeing him turn good was awesome). In every movie the casts chemistry is amazing, the music is so masterfully composed and I love the way the plot progresses in these films, it’s hard to communicate but it feels as though I’m watching the blueprint for a lot of modern cinema- which makes me appreciate it more. There was never a dull moment in seeing Luke become an awesome Jedi throughout these dude, he has a heart of gold and a realistic internal conflict that in my opinion is masterfully resolved in return of the Jedi when he says “I’m a Jedi, like my father before me”. In regard to the prequels I’ve heard a lot of people don’t like them but personally, while they’re not as consistent as the other movies, I love them just as much as the original’s. Anakin/Vader is my favorite character in the franchise and a contender for all time and Obi Wan is so damn cool. Revenge of the Sith is my favorite of the prequels and imo the best Star Wars movie so far.I’m watching the clone wars animated show now, but planning on watching the sequels. I haven’t heard many good things but I’m not going in with any presumptions as to give it a fair shot and I’m hoping I love them just as much as I do the other movies. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/zYt1pwW
