Now, I didn’t hate TLJ’s Resistance B-plot. But man, I feel like Rian Johnson could’ve made it way more interesting than he did.The set-up honestly had potential. The capital of the Republic has been wiped out. The rest of the galaxy must now be in a pretty chaotic state, with the major systems trying to defend against the First Order’s blitzkrieg offensive.Okay, sounds like the galaxy has entered a pretty chaotic war. But instead of taking advantage of that, the endgame of the Resistance story is basically just them trying to find good service so they can make a few phone calls to their allies. Why did that need to be the ultimate goal? Why not just have them contact their allies immediately from their main ship so that they can get to fighting this damn war.It just feels like such wasted potential when we are told that the galaxy is now at war, but we don’t get to see any of it. This storyline should’ve been about the Resistance trying to work together with the remnants of the Republic to gain an upper hand in the war. Instead it just becomes about them trying to escape from being wiped out by First Order. Didn’t they already accomplish that in the opening scene of the movie? Why did they need to escape twice? via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/CgS4ocP
