One word that would have made the sequels a lot better: commitment

For example, I know The Last Jedi was pretty controversial with a lot of fans but the trilogy would’ve ended on a much stronger note if they had simply committed to the plot points established in 8 when they made 9. Then we wouldn’t have had any of the weird, horrible Palpatine shit. The entire thing is just a terrible fanfiction.net fever dream.Speaking of TLJ, the worst part of the movie for me was the weird Leia force flying thing. It would’ve been a much stronger scene if she had simply died. Given his involvement in the scene, I think that could’ve been a pretty interesting moment for Kylo Ren’s character development. The fact that this isn’t the only death fakeout in sequels tells you a lot.Something else they should’ve followed through on: they should’ve let Finn die when he was going to sacrifice himself to buy the Resistance some time. A powerful, meaningful death was the best thing they could’ve done with him, because one of the many, many things that was deeply terrible about 9 is that they clearly had no idea what to do with him as a character. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/s3Bx0Pq
