Opinion: In RotS, Grievous shouldn't have served Sidious

Disclaimer: I talk trash on the Prequels, but I do respect RotS as the strongest.I feel RotS would have been strengthened had General Grievous been a Separatist commander independent of Darth Sidious, or distrustful of him. From the moment Anakin killed Dooku, there would have been an atmospheric shift to the Separatists' role in the narrative. Instead of Grievous giving a "Yes, Lord Sidious" to the hologram, he could have simply turned it off with a dismissive grunt. Maybe a comment about the interests of the CIS.We'd get a subtle shift in Chancellor Palpatine, urging the Jedi Council to eliminate Grievous as soon as possible and being very helpful in giving his last known location. No extra scenes would be needed, but we'd know Palpatine was carrying a delicate balance. Eliminating Grievous would trigger the final phase of the war and the execution of Order 66, but leaving Grievous alive too long would risk the Separatists moving outside the sphere of his control. I would have liked that.Just my thoughts. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2SVrqdd
