It's amazing that the story of Star Wars continues to be backfilled after the first stand-alone movie in 1977

I wasn't alive yet, but as I understand it, Episode IV was not added to the title until after the movie was wildly successful. It resonated with a society that was wary and war torn: it appealed to each generation's struggles almost universally and felt like a unifying anthem to youth who were dealing with the challenges of that decade. And still today, over 40 years later, the Star Wars universe is a story that is still being told, still being written. It's like a Christmas present that keeps unwrapping. And if you're like me, it still resonates with this generation (say what you will about TLJ but its theme of "let the past die" along with its bold confidence sure is relevant as heck to a lot of us).All the while, staying true to the original movie, none of this Jurrassic Park shenanigans. This is one reason I love Star Wars, and I hope it keeps on giving for years to come. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/300nPuG
