I've always seen the Jedi as a group similar to the Knights Templar, and a common theme in Templar stories is their rebirth as a secret society after their fall. I think that it would be cool for the Jedi Order to take a similar direction. The Jedi could seem like every day citizens, but in reality, they're still battling the Sith or whatever enemy is there.
