C-3PO is supposedly fluent in 6 million forms of communication, but he comes across a language that he doesn't completely understand in each movie of the OT.

This is just a minor thing I noticed when rewatching the OT last week, and I don't know if it was an intentional running gag or not.Episode 4: When 3PO gets captured by the jawas, he doesn't seem to be able to communicate with them outside of basic gestures.Episode 5: When the rebels are discussing the imperial probe Droid, all 3PO knows is that its language isn't used by the alliance. Then later in the movie, he notes that the Falcon uses a very peculiar dialect that he doesn't totally understand. (I know there's something in Solo that relates to this, but that obviously wasn't the intent when ESB first came out)Episode 6: When the Ewoks are first introduced, C-3PO initially has difficulty communicating with them because of their primitive dialect.I just think it's amusing that 3PO is fluent in 6 million forms of communication, but he always comes across a language he's confused by in each movie. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2K9od1R

Does anyone else not like the idea of 'grey jedi'?

I actually used to really like it but now I realize that it kind of ruins the idea of the lightside and darkside and the jedi and the sith. So all you have to do is not be a blood thirsty psycho or an emotionally stunted religious zealot? So just be a normal dude? Oh okay.I preferred when the 'lightside' was just the force and the darkside was like an addicting drug, the corruption of the force. I don't like how now it's considered to be a spectrum. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2mQtH8t

Star Wars has the most passionate yet Toxic community ever

Between the constant arguing, hate, and harassment within the community, you'll find some of the most kind and passionate fans ever seen. Lately, it's been getting harder to see the light side.My question to you all is how can we change this or what can we do better as a community? via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2LWPSF3

Am I the only one who feels Rogue One's soundtrack is criminally underrated?

Rogue One is my favorite of the new movies, but aside from that, I really enjoyed the soundtrack, moreso than I did for the sequels. I really enjoyed the new motifs introduced by Michael Giacchino. Jyn Erso/Hope theme and pretty much all of the music of the third act, as well as the Guardians of the Whills theme really stood out to me. It's strange to me that this soundtrack isn't more beloved. Thoughts? via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2LRpdwq

How convenient was it for the Falcon to have a "Lightsaber for Beginners" training kit stashed away on board for Ben and Luke to use?

The one scene I really want to see in Episode IX | Anakin force ghost

Just imagine. Kylo Ren sitting in his throne room now that he is the supreme leader. He doesn't know what to do since the voice in his head died together with Snoke.Ben desperatly calls upon Vader to show him guidance. suddenly it gets dark and foggy. Vader comes walking towards Kylo Ren but as he comes closer, he transforms into Anakin Skywalker. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2K6cC3Q

Did Dooku not realize he was an expendable pawn to Sidious in the long run? Did Sidious have any respect for Dooku?

Like Dooku seems like a pretty smart dude, did he really think Sidious cared about him or that he wasn't expendable? Like did he not consider what the future for him was after the Jedi order and the Separatists were wiped out? Sidious promised him a powerful role in the empire or something but did Dooku not consider the basic facts? If you consider the basic facts its obvious that he must be lying because Dooku was the public face of the CIS. Everybody in the Republic saw Dooku as the face of the enemy. It would be like if after Nazi Germany was defeated Harry Truman offered Hitler a role in constructing America as the next world superpower, nobody would be okay with that. After the defeat of the Separtists, at best Dooku would be given a comfy place to live in secrecy by Sidious and possibly act as his assassin or secret agent. More than likely it would be politically convenient to kill him and if he found a new apprentice totally unnecessary to keep him around.Dooku always seemed like a wise and deadly man very skilled in the ways of the force so I basically wonder three things: 1. Was he really blind to him merely being a pawn to be thrown away when no longer needed? Just a guy who once he played his part could be thrown away. And did Sidious really have no respect for Dooku who was very gifted in the force and skilled with a lightsaber, not to mention very savvy political skills? Dooku supposedly bested Mace Windu in a lightsaber duel. Mace Windu is the only person who actually defeated Sidious, and George Lucas confirmed Windu actually beat him it wasn't Palpatine holding back. Could Dooku have gone toe to toe with Sidious, possibly beating him? The impression you get from watching their relationship it seems like Sidious could crush him like a bug but that doesn't add up. Also why'd he loose to Anakin, were Anakin's lightsaber skills really that developed by then? Sorry for all the questions via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2mTEIWM

I kinda like Dooku in the Clone wars more than in the movie which is weird

Dooku is like the one character youd expect to like more in the moives since Christopher Lee is such an awesome actor. Anyone else feel the same? via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2Op32fE

When I was a kid in the early 90's it was common knowledge Vader was burned in lava. How did we know this before the prequel films came out?

I have no idea how we all knew but we did, was there some books or comics that had that kind of information it it back then? via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2LVnWBl

Obi-Wan Kenobi appreciation thread

Obi-Wan always held it down. He may not have been the most powerful Jedi, but his skills dedication and wisdom were unmatched. Whether it was getting justice for his master on Naboo, stopping Dooku, hunting Grevious, ensuring Luke would live on to be a Jedi he always faithfully did what he had to. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2vgWlTY

Kenobi is the best jedi. Change my mind.

Kenobi followed the code as closely as possible, but still obviously believed jedi could form attachment, shown by his relationship with Satine. He gave his life to the Jedi Order and peacekeeping, shown by his patience waiting on Tatooine to train Luke, knowing Luke was the only person that had a chance of destroying the sith. And he definitely was a forgiving man, shown by his final battle with maul. Maul has killed his master and his only love right before him and when Obi Wan finally kills him, which he only did to protect the galaxy basically, he holds him in his arms and tells him everything will be okay. Also he’s one of the best duelists ever. You can say he resorts to violence, but he rarely killed sentient beings. He mostly defeated battledroids. He was the first jedi to defeat a sith in over a thousand years though, and actually defeated two to the point where they were all but dead in the same time the chosen one defeated one sith. (Kenobi defeated both maul and Vader). He gave his life protecting the future of the galaxy and passed in peace.Obi Wan is the best jedi. Change my mind. via /r/StarWars https://ift.tt/2LvUrdi
