Obi Wan was a better Jedi than Luke.

It just occurred to me after watching The Last Jedi again that Obi Wan went through more than Luke ever did (lost his master, saw his civilization collapse, and then of course there's everything HIS apprentice did, especially to the younglings, and becoming a hermit not out of choice but out of duty) and he still turned out optimistic and eager to train the next Jedi.
