Luke was about to join Rey in TLJ.

Basically, a user who somehow got early access to the TLJ novelization revealed some of its interesting stuff online on r/starwarsleaks. One of the most interesting details is that Luke was actually coming round to Rey and was about to join her to save Leia before he found her and Kylo in the room together. He even says "Rey, you were right.
