I've been seeing a complaint online and irl about the gang being tracked through hyperspace and it just came out of nowhere without any explanation. Well, watching rogue one last night when they're on scarif and going through the data files, one of them is called hyperspace tracking. So yeah, looks like the empire had been experimenting with it.
