I absolutely loved the movie as I watched it. Couldn't wait to get on reddit and read the discussion. So I was shocked when I found mostly negative reactions.I've been thinking about it all night and this morning. One thing I think really helped was that I went into the movie without knowing a single thing. I didn't watch any trailers, didn't even see any images. I didn't discuss theories with people beforehand. I wanted to go in and experience it as something completely new.It seems like so many people had theories and ideas developed, and they were then so disappointed by the different direction taken. For me I just decided I would go along for the ride and enjoy myself and then process it all after. And I LOVED it.I completely understand the criticisms and flaws, and I think at another point in my life I would not have liked this movie. But I can't deny that I like the risks they took and how they subverted expectation and made the movie more about failure and deeper character arcs. I think a big part of the was the fact that I went in totally opened minded.I would love to discuss. If anyone has anything to discuss please comment. via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2zeLVrs
