Luke and Rey won't go "Grey"

When the idea of the reformed Jedi using the dark side starting popping up, I loved it. Who doesn't want to see Luke going ape shit on baddies with force lightning and whatnot? I've come to realize though that this won't happen. Our understanding is that light side users, like the Jedi, are supposed to follow the will of the Force. On the other hand, a dark side user, like the Sith, bends the Force to their will, corrupting it. You can't bend the Force a little to your will and still be following the will of the Force and as such a true user of the light side can't dabble in the dark side.I think the Jedi went off the rails when they started acting on behalf of the Senate. If the Senate is your master you can't always be following the will of the Force. When what the Senate wants and what the will of the Force is conflict you are corrupting the will of the Force, bending it to your will, and you begin to creep towards the dark side.Likewise, the Jedi Counsel as seen in the prequels is a mistake. They issue orders that the rest of the Jedi are supposed to follow. But if members of the Counsel aren't 100% in tune with the will of the Force then their orders are faulty and not lined up with the will of the Force and so they and those that are acting on their behalf are bending the Force to their will.I believe that the way forward for Luke and the Jedi is to reform the order to be more like Qui Gon. He didn't care what the Counsel or the Senate wanted, he tried to always follow the will of the Force. If he believed the will of the Force was counter to the will of the Counsel or Senate, he acted in opposition to them (like training Anakin). That's what the new Jedi have to become; true followers of the Force that act upon it's behalf. via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2x9Pigb
