Am I taking crazy pills or does anyone else think the TFA isn't just a rehash of ANH!?

Or rather that it references all 3 of the OG trilogy films in one?People seem to quickly forget that there was such a pressure to return to the feel of the og trilogy when a new star wars film was announced. And so in my eyes it makes perfect sense that the studio decided to make a film that to them blended and alluded to elements of all 3 films of the trilogy whilst also bringing in new elements. At first everyone seemed to love it but now the online backlash has gone the other way and complain it's just a ANH re hash, because it maybe leaned a little too heavily on that one film.Biggest allusion to this for me is the visual imagery of the terrain we see in the film.Dessert, ice planet, forrest.Everyone mentions the new hope elements but always thought the han and kylo scene, heavily alludes to empire and Rey's overpowering of kylo also echoes the end battle in ROTJ.Not to mention the fact of another death star and we follow our heroes as they espionage their way through a base to take down sheilds while a space dog fight ensues outside, the success of which hinges on their mission - is more ROTJ than ANH - it's just that those films are rehashing themselves anyway.Sorry if this has been stated many times before but Im new to the sub reddit, but any else think like this? And that people focus too much on the similarities to a new hope?yeah I wish they dropped some of those elements, namely the death star but it's generally background mcguffin nuts and bolts plot structure - more than story. The marvel films all have largely the same plot mechanics and weak villains and people don't seem to mind and there's like 20 of them.People seem to act now like it's a deal breaker and ruins the film where as the actual characters arcs and the real story elements above that underlying structure are surprisingly new and refreshing. For trying to keep star wars fans happy your kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't...And don't get me started on the characters, people hate on rey being a Mary sue and kylo being too 'weak' and whiny but then if they weren't like that...if rey isn't such a natural and takes a while to learn force skills and is subsequently beaten by kylo as a result only to go off and get more training - then it would of been WAY more similar to the OG trilogy. But the same people hating on the re hash element seem to also complain about those character traits too...TL - DR - basically it's impossible to keep Star Wars fans happy and I think to try and do so will drive you crazy.P.s couple of little elements could of really helped TFA - swap out star killer base for anythjng else and keeping jakku to be more like the original concept art of swampy and watery, maybe have falcon underwater etc. But they probably wanted to avoid a lot of cg environments or connections to underwater elements of PM... via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2iN7VSN
