They were 100% right not to trust the Naboo. Naboo ELECTED a 14 year old to run their entire planet, then a sith lord to represent her in the Senate. Having a 14 year old for queen is excusable with an inherited monarchy, especially with a regent, but Padme is less of a queen and more of a President. THEY ELECTED A 14 YEAR OLD PRESIDENT.
