Why are people so obsessed with why Moff Gideon was terrified of Luke?

I've seen people make some really long and complex explanations for why Gideon would be terrified of Luke, and like... seriously? Are we just overanalyzing everything so much now?Like, his darktroopers were reclaiming his ship for him, he was getting the upper hand, and then a Jedi boarded his ship and screwed everything up. What should Gideon do, throw a party?
