Qui Gon parallels Luke in Return of the Jedi

In TPM, we're introduced to Qui Gon Jinn, a Jedi master who often goes against the will of the council. When he brings in Anakin to the Jedi Council, they refuse to train him, saying that he's too full of fear and anger, and already down the path to the dark side.OBI-WAN: The boy is dangerous... they all sense it. Why can't you?QUI-GON: His fate is uncertain, he's not dangerous.Qui Gon believes that Anakin's fate is not decided yet, he can still be a Jedi.In Return of the Jedi, Obi Wan and Yoda tell Luke that he must kill Vader.Luke: There is still good in him.Obi-Wan: He's more machine now than man. Twisted and evil.Luke: I can't do it, Ben.Obi-Wan: You cannot escape your destiny. You must face Darth Vader again.Luke: I can't kill my own father.Yoda also tells him :“Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will...”Warning him that if he starts falling he'll never be able to come back, and also that he's father can't be turned. But Luke still thinks he can be saved, that he's destiny is not decided yet, and as we saw, he was right.I'm maybe just pointing the obvious but there's a clear parallel between Qui Gon and Luke, who both disagreed with the council about if Anakin's was decided. via /r/StarWars http://bit.ly/2SbJwbh
